I had the pleasure to attend BizarroCon last month, and one of the activities I took part on was the panel «The Road to Publication», in which we shared our experiences as publishers of bizarro fiction and some tips if you want to pursue this career. The panel was moderated by Rose O’Keefe (Eraserhead Press) and it featured Ross E. Lockhart (Word Horde), Nick Day (Rooster Republic Press), Michael Kazepis (King Shot Press) and me. You can now listen to it thanks to the guys at This Is Horror, who recorded the panel for The Outer Dark podcast. The same podcast episode features another one of the panels, «The Weird in a Post-Weird World» (featuring Cody Goodfellow, Mark Jaskowski, Emma/MP Johnson, Andrew James Stone, Madeleine Swann, and Jason Rizos), a revision of BizarroCon and much more wonderful content. You can check it out HERE alongside with further links related to the content. You can also listen to it on iTunes.
When I got home last Saturday from a presentation in Barcelona, I got on Skype so that Frank Edler could interview me for his Bizzong! podcast. We talk about bizarro, translation, translating bizarro and bizarroing translation, I’m very happy with this interview because after seeing the list of writers that I admire that have been featured on it, it was an honor for me. You can listen to it below, or on iTunes or on other platforms (here’s the list). And here’s another link in case it’s not working.
